Carbonated beverage dispensing system

A beverage-dispensing system has a valve in a faucet (cock) 6 which controls the dispensing of the beverage via a passage 5 from a rigid or flexible container. Nitrogen (or another inert gas) or carbon dioxide from a passage 15 is introduced into the beverage in the air passage 5 during dispensing in order to form foam or cream. The gas introduced enters under pressure (preferably adjustable pressure) into the beverage in the passage 5 from the passage 15 and by means of the restrictor capillary tube 18 and a retention valve 21 which communicates with the tube 18. The retention valve 21 has an elastic diaphragm 27 which normally closes said valve and is able to move under gas pressure in order to introduce gas into the beverage. A labyrinth mixer 39 is arranged in the passage 5 below the position at which the gas is introduced.
