摘要 <p>The sulphur hexafluoride is prepared by a gas phase reaction of sulphur tetrafluoride SF4 and uranium hexafluoride UF6. A compound capable of absorbing the radiation energy emitted by a laser is added to the gas phase and the energy thus absorbed is transmitted to the uranium hexafluoride molecules, and the gas phase introduced at (37), which comprises sulphur tetrafluoride, uranium hexafluoride and the said compound, is irradiated in the cell (31) by means of at least one laser (34) whose radiation has a wavelength corresponding to an absorption peak of the said compound. The compound is preferably sulphur hexafluoride and in this case a CO2 laser with a wavelength of 10.6 mu m is employed. &lt;IMAGE&gt;</p>
