<p>A model system for illustration of chemical bonding in paste for use in teaching demonstrations has an optically concealed, pref. rod type, support device, to which so called orbital bodies may be attached. The orbital bodies are produced from coloured plastic matls., in partic. styropor and are designed to represent the wave-mechanical definitions of the component electrons within an atom, i.e., the so called atomic orbitals. The additional supports on the basic orbital bodies are attached so as to represent the appropriate spatial bonding directions.</p> |
