PURPOSE:To find the center line of a binary open curve graphic form at a high speed and with high precision by tracking successively the center of gravity of each area of the binary open curve graphic form which has uniform line width through digital processing. CONSTITUTION:Read binary image graphic data is stored in an image memory part 1 and a processor part 3 performs digital image processing according to center line extraction algorithm stored in a main memory part 2. The center point of the line width of a mask pattern at a know point on the graphic form is found by this processor processing and used as a tracking start point. Then, investigation areas are determined successively and their centers of gravity are found and connected by straight lines. Consequently, the need to scan the mask patter is eliminated and the center line of the binary open curve graphic form is found at a high speed and with high precision. |
