The invention relates to an allocation device 1 for allotting consecutive allocation periods within a bus 3 distributed to several asynchronous data sources having different bit rates and being identified by tags Ei, so that an active source having requested authorization to transmit can transmit a data packet in a bus during an allocation datum. According to the invention, the tag Ei of an active source is stored in just one cell 70k of a tag memory 7 whatever the bit rate of the source. The reading of the tag is performed substantially at the frequency, reproduced in a tag frequency allocation circuit, of the packets to be transmitted, and is decided in particular as a function of active source priorities so as automatically to manage simultaneous allocation requests coming into conflict in respect of a same allocation period. <IMAGE>
