PURPOSE:To obtain the longest service life of inner and outer races by so constituting relations between the radii of inner and outer race grooves as to satisfy a predetermined formula. CONSTITUTION:The grooves of inner and outer races 1 and 2 are made to have radii Rb and Ra, the shell radius, the maximum diameter and the pitch circle diameter of a spherical roller are taken at Rc, Da and dm respectively and a bearing contact angle taken at alpha. Then, they are made to have the following relations; -0.5gamma+1.01<=(fe-0.5)/(fi-0.5)<=-0.5gamma+1.05, where fi=Rb/2Rc, fe=Ra/2Rc and gamma=(Da/dm)cosalpha. Therefore, the contact surface pressure of the inner and outer races 1 and 2 and the roller 3 becomes approximately uniform in the axial direction of the bearing and the service life of said races 1 and 2 can be prolonged to a maximum. |
