In a motor vehicle body, advantages with respect to the manufacture of different models designed without a weather strip are obtained if a connecting element is provided between roof and upper region of the door opening frame, which connecting element forms the lateral edge of the cross-section of the roof and is connected on the one hand to the actual roof and on the other hand to the door opening frame and forms together with the latter the upper edge of the door opening. The upper section of the door opening frame ends freely within the door frame whose side wall is formed on the outside by the connecting element.
