A room-divider wall unit comprises a rear space (13) on its rear side between two vertical side walls and/or bottom and top panels (5), it being possible, if desired, to fill the space with sound-insulating materials, and the space being closed by a detachable closing panel (5). To provide a system which is as simple as possible and by means of which the covering panel mentioned can be attached with utmost precision and detachably on the respective rear side of the unit, it is provided that clamping springs (21) or clamping-spring portions are fitted to the side, bottom and/or top walls (7) in the respectively rearward region, and that clamping profiles (15), which can be lockably inserted into the clamping springs (21) so as to be detachable, are fitted on the inner side of the closing panel (5) at a predetermined distance from the horizontal and/or vertical edges of cut (17) (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
