Method of forming a composite curved surface (100) by combining at least first and second three-dimensionally curved surfaces (101, 102). This method comprises the steps of: inputting data that specify the first and second three-dimensionally curved surfaces (101, 102); determining the position coordinates values of a jth point Q(i, j) along an ith route L¿c?(i) when defining the second three-dimensionally curved surface (102) by the aggregate of a plurality of routes: judging whether or not the point Q(i, j) exists on the same side as a (j - 1)?th¿ point Q(i, j - 1) along the ith route with respect to the first three-dimensionally curved surface (101); storing the point Q(i, j) if it exists on the same side, and determining and storing the coordinates values of a point S(i, j) on the first three-dimensionally curved surface (101) corresponding to the point of projection of the point Q(i, j) on a predetermined plane, if the point Q(i, j) does not exist on the same side; performing similar procedures by determining the position data of the next point Q(i, j) on the ith route by taking in turn j+1 $(1,3)$ j, and determining the point on a composite curved surface (100) corresponding to the ith route so as to form the composite curved surface with the aggregate of the points.
|
