<p>A load mechanism for loading and unloading magnetic heads (12) onto disks (20) of a file for magnetic recording includes a pivotable comblike structure (22) whose fingers (24) coact with the head supporting flexures (10) to maintain the heads (12) securely spaced from the disks (20) during the unloaded mode and to allow the heads (12) to assume the transducing position during the load mode thereby avoiding head crashes on the disk (20) which otherwise occur when the disk file is transported.</p> |
