A sunglass lens (16) has a central region (21) which is provided with an ultra-violet screening agent to protect the eye, whilst the surrounding regions (18, 19, 20) have little or not screening agent so as to permit tanning of the skin around the eye. The lens may be provided with a coloured tint in addition, and this can be darkest around the periphery (18). |
