A pump which is capable of reversible operation for conveying fluid as a function of the direction of rotation in one of two conveying channels, in each of which a valve is arranged, is described. Coupled to the drive unit of the pump via a slip clutch is a lever which alternately locks one of the two valves in the closed position. In this way a satisfactory opening and closing of the valves in the desired direction is brought about and, when the pump is switched off, large closing forces act on the valve closing bodies so that both conveying channels are satisfactorily sealed.
