A bed frame, especially for hospital beds, with a carrying device assigned to the frame part in the form of a so-called gallows with a head for bearing of loads and a foot or base section which is rotatable relative to the frame part and fixable as a function of the load in a predetermined radial position of its head, is to be improved as regards its functions. For this, the coupling parts have, on the one hand, a conical section which extends in the direction of pressure and is axially displaceable and which tapers in a downward direction and interacts with an energy accumulator, and, on the other hand, blocks which are approximately radial thereto, themselves have a conical opening for the conical section, consist of a material of limited elasticity, form a ring and oppose with their outer surfaces a rigid ring wall against which they rest in the loaded position of the gallows.
