PURPOSE:To obtain a printing apparatus excellent in usability, by automatically revolving a rear part housing with respect to a front part housing in use to locate the same at a printing position and automatically locating a carriage at a reference position. CONSTITUTION:With the revolution of a pinion 32 to the direction opposite to an arrow C by a drive motor 30, a first spur gear 26 is revolved to the direction opposite to an arrow D and a transmission gear 15 is revolved to the direction shown by an arrow F along with gear 14 through a pinion 37. At this time, because a worm gear 14 is meshed with the gear 19 of a front part support plate 7, a rear part housing 2 is downwardly revolved from a stop position and a front part housing 1 revolves to a printing position. Because a pinion revolves to the direction opposite to an arrow C, a timing belt 29 moves to the direction opposite to an arrow E by the revolution of a first pulley 24 to move a head carriage 18 from a return position to a home position direction. By locating the carriage 18 at the reference position, printing operation can rapidly correspond and usability is improved. |
