<p>A pipe bending machine comprises a bending head (12) for engaging a pipe (1), drive means for displacing the bending head so as to bend the pipe through an angle, and means for co-operating with the bent portion of pipe once the bending force has been removed, in order to determine the actual angle through which the pipe has been bent. This may serve to measure the angle through which the pipe springs back, to enable the control system to predict through what angles the head must turn the pipe to achieve desired angles of bend in the pipe, and to check that actual formed bends are sufficiently accurate relative to desired angles.</p> |
