It is intended to create an electrical coil which is fully protected by potting the connected coil winding and in the case of whose manufacture the winding can be wound on the coil former and connected in a simple manner, by automata, for this purpose, the coil (1) is wound as an open winding, for example by means of flyers, onto the core of the coil former (2) between its end flanges (21; 22), and its ends (11; 12) are connected to plug contact elements (3; 4) in pockets (23; 24) on the outside of the end flanges (21; 22). The winding space is closed by means of a covering film, which is held at a radial distance from the incorporated winding and rests in a sealing manner against the outer edges of the end flanges (21; 22), in the form of a bending part (5) which can be fitted and whose form is stamped, or of a pot (7), which can be placed over it and is, for example, deep drawn, except for a residual filling opening, and the potting mould formed in this way is filled with casting resin (6). <IMAGE>
