A fuel injection pump with a hydraulic injection timing adjusted is proposed, in which the control piston (6) for the injection timing adjustment follows the adjustment of a control slide valve (25) of a servo valve, which is displaceable by the speed-dependent pressure of a return spring (26), the control pressure chamber (30) of the control slide valve being connected to the pressure source by way of a throttle (24) in order to compensate for pressure surges superimposed on the control pressure.
