<p>An elongate member (76) extends into a cooling fluid control passage (74, 92) of a gas turbine (10) to establish a preselected cooling flow area (82) which may be changed. The time and expense required to change the cooling flow rate is drastically reduced because the elongate members (76) are accessible external of the engine (10). The elongate member (76) is removed from the engine (10) and replaced by a different elongate member (76) having a different outer diameter (80, 100) of the stem (78) or sleeve (96). The different diameter results in a new clearance or preselected flow area (82) for cooling air to pass therethrough.</p> |
