The sliding table (6) is used for exchanging sets (7) of tools in a press (1) and can therefore travel on rails (5) into and out of the press (1). The travelling movement is effected by an adjustment means (10) which is installed in an underground shaft (11) which extends parallel to the travelling movement of the sliding table (6). The underground shaft (11) is used to accommodate a supply line (16), which is carried along concomitantly with the sliding table (6), and is kept sealed off at the top by a cover (13). The cover (13) is composed of individual covering elements which are articulatedly connected to one another. Starting from the adjustment means (10) the drive of the sliding table (6) is effectd across the corner (13). <IMAGE>
