PURPOSE:To discriminate that a card which has a memory stored with feature information showing the features of the card is a correct card when feature information in the memory coincides with the measurement result of the card by measuring the features of the card and also reading the feature information out of the memory when the card is inserted. CONSTITUTION:The card 20 has the memory 23, a CPU 24, and an electrode 21 provided in a plate type base 22 and an embossment 25 formed on the top surface of the base 22. The memory 23 is stored previously with pattern data corresponding to the pattern of the embossment 25. Then, the memory 23 provided to the card 20 is stored previously with the feature information indicating the features of the card 20 and when the card 20 is inserted, said feature information is read out of the memory 23 of the card 20; when this feature information coincides with the features of the card 20, it is discriminated that the card is a correct card. The embossment 25 of each card 20 is only made different to identify the correct card from a copy card formed by transferring data from the card to a card by using a card reader, a card writer, etc. |
