A punch press having multiple punch tool rotatable turrets wherein at least one of the punch tools l6 on each of upper l4 and lower 24 turrets is indexable to different angular orientations. Rotation of the indexable punch tools is accomplished by a slidably mounted motor l8 for engagement with a timing pulley 32 which, through a timing belt 30 and a harmonic gear drive 92, acts to rotate the punch tools. Position sensors l04 and a brake l58 are also provided.
