<p>Colour printing is done by applying to the surface to be printed a layer of a photosensitive compsn. (I) in basic medium, then exposing this layer to the light as appropriate to the negative image being developed, and then immediately afterwards washing and rinsing the irradiated coating layer to eliminate any unreacted chemicals followed finally by drying. (I) comprises at least triazine of formula R1NNNR2R3 (where R1, R2 and R3 may be H, alkyl or aryl) and a coupling agent capable of giving a colour by reacting with the cpd. obtd. by photochemical decompsn. of the triazine by exposure to the light. Textiles and plastics can be printed mono or polychrome, and esp. three colour printed using the method. The method is simple in operation and needs no involved equipment.</p> |
