<p>Noxious gas detector capable of detecting a few ppm (dimethyl) hydrazine in air comprises a combination of two assemblies, one formed by the ionisation of the detector the other comprising a gas scrubber, contg. a device for changing the air to be analysed. The detector incorporates an entry filter a dehydrator, a gas scrubber with a reactant and a reaction chamber joined to the entry filter and to the detector. The detector contains a constant temp. enclosure, a cell with a strontium source of alpha-radiation and electrode connected to an amplifier and a graduated galvanometer. The detector is connected to a gas separator, a protective filter a flowmeter a suction pump and a return flow. The appts. is much less expensive than spectrometers and chromatographs used in prior art, and can be used for continuous monitoring. It provides automatic signals which can be translated into audible visual or control signals.</p> |
