Production of aromatics from hydrocarbon feedstock.

This invention relates to a process for producing aromatic hydrocarbons from a mixed feedstock rich in C2 hydrocarbons and containing at least 5 % w/w of methane. The feedstock in the vapour phase and in the absence of oxygen is brought into contact with a gallium loaded zeolite of the MFI type at a temperature from 500-750 DEG C thereby froming the aromatics. The products formed are useful as gasoline blending components.
