A copolyester with good dyeability and light fastness is prepd. from dicarboxylic acids contg. >= 80 mol % terephthalic acid (or its esters) and glycols contg. >= 80 mol % ethylene glycol, tetramethylene glycol, and/or 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, with 1-10% glycol HO(CkH2kO)mZ(OClH2l)nOH (I)(Z=C4-20alkylene, arylene; k,l=2-4; m+n=1- 12) in the polyester and a hindered phenal antioxidant exhibiting 10% wt. loss at >= 300 ≦̸C, detd. at heating rate 10≦̸C/min under Ar.
