<p>Waste water contg. solid organic matter is digested in 2 stages anaerobically. In the 1st stage, the material is hydrolysed and acidified whereas, in the 2nd stage, methane fermentation takes place. The effeciency of anaerobic digestion is improved by maintaining >= 80% of the particles in the 1st stage at 0.25 -1.5 mm and transporting smaller paticles to the 2nd stage. The process ferments wastes contg. leaves, grasses or waste from vegetables and fruits.</p> |
