For the lubrication of a drive shaft bearing (6) in a centrifugal separator the drive shaft (1) supports a right-circular cylindrical sleeve (20) whose lower end is immersed in an annular basin (18) filled with oil (19). Upon rotation of the drive shaft (1) an oil mist will be generated above the basin (18) to contact and lubricate the drive shaft bearing (6).
