PURPOSE:To protect a compressor upon restarting and carry out effective room cooling operation for workers by a method wherein a proper delay time is provided to operate or reoperate the compressor after a fan is operated by a room cooling demanding signal from a human detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION:In a spot cooler for local room cooling, which is installed in a factory or the like, the human detecting sensor 9, detecting the moving condition of a worker M and outputting the room cooling demanding signal, is provided at the side of a cool air blow-off port 8. When the human detecting sensor 9 detects the entering of the worker M, the fans 4, 5 are driven by the output signal of the sensor 9. When 10 seconds have elapsed, the compressor 1 is driven and the room cooling operation is started. When there is no signal from the human detecting sensor 9 and 5min have elapsed under the same condition, the fans 4, 5 and the compressor 1 is stopped. When the sensor 9 detects the entering of the worker M again, the fans 4, 5 are driven. Subsequently, when 10sec or 1min have elapsed, the compressor 1 is driven again. Thereafter, when there is no signal from the sensor 9 during 3min after the compressor 1 is stopped, the condition of the device is returned to the initial condition thereof. |
