PURPOSE:To perform quick access by dividing a coil into two windings and connecting them in parallel in case of access and connecting them in series in case of recording and reproducing. CONSTITUTION:A medium 1 as a recording medium is rotated by a spindle motor 2, and an optical head 3 for recording and reproducing of the medium is mounted on a voice coil motor (VCM) 4. A switching circuit 6 changes the connection between coils of the VCM 4 by the signal from a CPU 7. A driving circuit 5 drives the VCM 4 for tracking follow at the recording and reproducing time and the access operation. Two coils is connected in parallel for access and are connected in series for recording and reproducing by the switching circuit 6. |
