PURPOSE:To obtain a V-pulley excellent in wear-resisting and impact-resisting properties by pressing a cleaving roll into the outer peripheral part of a blank material to form V-grooves and deforming plastically each piece to be formed into the V-groove into a desired shape by pressing the piece in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A blank material having the peripheral surface of desired wall- thickness is rotated by holding it between mandrels 4, 5 located at its both sides, and a cleaving roll 20 is pressed into the outer peripheral surface 6 to form plural e.g. two rows of rough V-grooves, having prescribed depths and arranged at a prescribed pitch, by cleaving. At the same time, when a finishing roll 22 is forced into the rough V-grooves, each piece having the rough V-groove is pressed in the axial direction and is plastically deformed, to form a multigroove V-pulley W3 having grooves of prescribed shapes. |
