摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make the volume reduction and stabilized solidification of spent resin possible by a method wherein the spent resin is atomized by crushing it under low temperature developed in contact with liquid nitrogen. CONSTITUTION:Resin spent at atomic power generating station or the like is transferred to the bottom of a crushing chamber 22b so as to be impact-ground with a bar-shaped hammer 22a. At this time, liquid nitrogen 23 is periodically poured from a nozzle 23a in the resin in order to suppress the temperature rise due to the frictional heat generation in the resin and at the same time to keep the temperature of the spent resin at low temperature state. As a result, the spent resin is atomized from about 500mum to about 10mum. After that, demineralized water 24 is flowed from a nozzle 24a in the crushing chamber 22b so as to turn the atomized resin into slurry in order to transfer it to facilities 35 such as drum packing device, incinerator or the like. Consequently, the voids of the atomized resin are sharply reduced and the storage capacity of the resin is reduced at least as half as that of the conventional resin. Further when the resin is treated by being solidified directly such as with cement, asphalt or the like, no deformation occurs and the fracture phenomena due to the swelling of resin become hard to occur and also the compressive strength of a solid is enhanced.</p>
