PURPOSE:To manufacture a high strength resin cast article, the improvement of the mechanical strength of which is contrived, by a method wherein resin composition consisting of chopped strands impregnated with casting resin is past through a continuous kneader so as to feed the composition into a mold under pressure while dissociating the bundling of the strands in order to cure the resin composition by heating. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, casting resin, which is deaerated under vacuum, is put in an impregnating tank. Secondly, chopped strands are added onto the casting resin so as to impregnate them with the casting resin by evacuating the impregnating tank. Thirdly, the chopped strand-loaded resin composition sent from the impregnating tank under pressure is fed to a continuous kneader, provided ahead of the inlet of a mold. The bundlings of the chopped strands are dissociated in the kneader before being fed to the mold. Fourthly, the fiber-loaded resin composition is fed under the predetermined pressure in the mold, the interior of which is held in vacuum. Finally, after being filled in the mold, the resin is cured by heating. |
