PURPOSE:To obtain a driving device for rolling mill which is excellent in strength and adjustable while its roll is rotated, by constituting the driving device in such a way that the rotation is once taken out to the outside of its pinion stand and the phase of output shaft in the peripheral direction can be adjusted by a spline coupling. CONSTITUTION:A driving device 10 which drives the rolls 1 and 1 of a mill stand 9 transmits the power of a motor 4 to the upper pinion 12 of a pinion stand 7 through a reduction gear 5 and spindle 6. Then the said power is transmitted from the pinion 12 to the upper kaliber roll 1 of the mill stand 9 through a spindle 8. On the other hand, the power is transmitted from the upper pinion 12 to the lower kaliber roll 1 through a lower pinion 13, helical spline fitting 17, power transmission shaft 10, and spindle 8 and the upper and lower kaliber rolls 1 and 1 are synchronously rotated. In this case, the phase adjustment of the rolls 1 and 1 is performed while a moving case 21 fixed to a frame 11 with screws is retreated against an internal thread hole 22. |
