PURPOSE:To simplify the entirety by generating a surface traveling wave on the surface of a ring washerlike member, and transmitting a torque to a collar member by the wave to rotate the inner race of a bearing. CONSTITUTION:Inner and outer races 2, 1 are associated through rollers such as balls 8 and needlelike rolls 7, the race 2 supports the radial component through the orbit groove 16 of the race 2 and the ball or bearing member 6, and the ring washerlike bearing member 6 supports the thrust load through the flangelike shoulder 13 of the race 2 and the rolls 7 to form radial and thrust bearings. When a high frequency voltage is applied to a piezoelectric element 3, a traveling wave is generated on the surface 9 of a stator 4, and a rotor 5 is affected by a rotary torque due to a frictional drive from the surface 9 for generating the surface traveling wave of a stator body 4 on which the element 3 is arranged in the surface 10 perpendicular to the central shaft of the rotor 5. |
