PURPOSE:To make the impedance of parallel circuits sufficiently large and to reduce the power loss of a load which produces phase-lagged power at the time of idling, by causing a reactor capable of saturation at an unsaturated state to make parallel resonance together with a phase-advancing capacitor which is connected in parallel with the reactor. CONSTITUTION:A capacity-fixed phase advancing capacitor 11 is connected in parallel with the reactor 9 capable of saturation. The capacity of the capacitor 11 is fixed to such a value that the capacitor 11 can have the same size of reactance as the reactance of the reactor 9 when it is unsaturated, namely, the reactor 9 capable for saturation at the unsaturated state and capacitor 11 can make parallel resonance. Since the DC excitation of the reactor 9 is controlled to a weaker level and the absolute value of the impedance of the reactor 9 is selected in such a way that the absolute value can become equal to that of the capacitor 11 which is connected in parallel with the reactor 9 when the impedance of the reactor 9 becomes higher, a parallel resonating condition is obtained. In other words, the composite impedance of the reactor 9 and phase-advancing capacitor 11 at this time can infinitely be made higher when the pure resistance quantities of both the apparatuses are ignored. |
