<p>PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously obtain the titled anti form compound useful as an intermediate for producing physiologically active substances, e.g. saccharide derivatives, by reacting glyceraldehyde with a specific Grignard reagent in the presence of a cuprous salt and alkyl lithium in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:Glyceraldehyde expressed by formula I is reacted with a Grignard reagent expressed by the formula RMgX {X is halogen; R is substituted vinyltrimethylsilyl group expressed by formula II [R<1> is alkyl, alkenyl or formula III (Y is H, lower alkyl, etc.; n is an integer 1-5)]} in the presence of a cuprous salt, e.g. cuprous cyanide, and alkyl lithium, e.g. methyl lithium, in a solvent, e.g. THF, preferably at -78-+10 deg.C normally for 30min-10hr to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula IV (R<2> is H or protecting group of hydroxyl group).</p> |
