The invention relates to a system for attaching a separate roof (timber-steel purlin) on an existing load-bearing frame, enabling the height of buildings to be increased and new dwelling places to be created, by means of prefabricated dwelling or framework elements. The system consists of a bottom rail 9 fixed to a longitudinal member 6 which is reinforced 7, by fixing rails 8 provided with anchoring tabs 15, the assembly being locked by bolts 11 and nuts 12, with compressible joints 10 being inserted. The longitudinal member 6 is joined to the load-bearing elements 1 and 2 by means of cylindrical bores 3, inside which steel reinforcement elements 4 are incorporated by anchoring 5. The separate frame will be fitted to the bottom rail 9 by a tongue 13 and locked by pins 14. <IMAGE>
