METHOD FOR METALLIZING SURFACE OF MOLDED RESIN ARTICLE

PURPOSE:To improve the bonding strength of a film formed by plating by roughening the surface of a prescribed molded resin article with a soln. of hydrofluoric acid or ammonium hydrogenfluoride before plating. CONSTITUTION:Polyether ether ketone, polyphenylene sulfide or polyamidoimide is mixed with glass fibers and molded to obtain a molded resin article. The surface of the article is roughened with a soln. of hydrofluoric acid or ammonium hydrogenfluoride. THe roughened surface of the article is metallized by electroless plating or other method.
