Telephone plug including a male part, a female part complementary with the male part, for a male part of another plug and a conduit for the connection of the leads of a cord to the conducting strips of the plug, these strips being disposed symmetrically with respect to the median plane of a small separating plate, on both faces of which strips are disposed the male parts of the strips. The plug includes an insulating casing consisting of two half-shells which define a cavity and which are each open at the end by a polarising slot for a male part. The aligned conducting strips forming the male and female parts are secured by overmoulding in two carrier units which are fixed on either side of a positioning unit including the separating plate. The assembly formed by the three assembled units is housed in the cavity defined by the half-shells, the small separating plate and the male parts of the conducting strips projecting from the polarising slot of one of the half-shells. <IMAGE>
