The subject of the invention relates to an apparatus for thawing water pipes made of polyethylene which are commonly called "plastic pipes". Referring to Figure 1 : A is a tank, B an electrical resistor, T a thermostat, this assembly heats a liquid consisting of water containing a 10 % proportion of calcium chloride. A connection valve V between the electrical pump C which drives the liquid via a probe D in the pipe to be thawed towards the ice blockage. The returning liquid ends up in the collector F in order to be directed towards the tank A and once again repeat its thawing operation cycle. <IMAGE>
