It is known to furnish filters for ventilation channels for vehicles with dust-separating filter material. It is further known to pack for example activated charcoal or chemisorption compositions into non-woven filter web. However, the non-woven filter web alone, as a dust separator, is not sufficient in order to separate off odours and toxic gases. The use of activated charcoal or similar granular material in non-woven filter webs has the disadvantage that this material is abraded by vibrations of the vehicle and slips out of the dust filter cases so that gaps form through which the air can pass unpurified. In order to rectify this defect, according to the invention it is proposed that the intake side of the filter surfaces is composed of an odour non-woven web layer (1), downstream of which is added on activated chemisorption paper (2), for example activated charcoal paper. The filter surface (2) is composed of active paper shreds, which because of their chemisorption capacity can preferably be sewn or inserted between two layers (1) and (3) to reduce odour in a thickness in accordance with the objective.
