A temporarily attachable device for a wheel with a rim with elastic tyres and with at least one profiled element protruding from the tread of the wheel, in particular for the purpose of protection against skidding and for increasing tractive force, is characterised in that the profiled element is of belt-shaped construction and in that the profiled element has on its two ends attachment elements which can be releasably connected to holding elements arranged on the rim on each side of the tyre. Each holding element can preferably be welded to the rim and each profiled element is preferably a chain. In a preferred embodiment of the device, each attachment element is a hook and each holding element is an eyelet.
