A part concealed lay-on hinge has a fixed (2) and a mobile (1) fitting mounted on the frame (4) and the door (3) respectively, each fitting having one or two triangular shaped arms (9, 21) cantilevering from mounting plates (5, 24) to locate (15, 22) an offset hinge pin. A 180 deg. opening of the door is catered for with the pin nominally offset beyond the outer face of the door, the mobile fitting being partially let into the edge of the door. The mounting plates are screwed to the inner faces of the door and the frame, the arm of the fixed fitting presenting a forward projection of the frame, and the shape of the plates accommodating a degree of interlocking in the closure position. The arms of the mobile fitting may fit flush with the edge and the inner face of the door, a notch (14) between the arms catering for the interlock.
