PURPOSE:To prevent color displacement of multicolor printing and displacement of printing positions by comparing the lengths of a plurality of marks printed on the side margins of a continuous sheet with a reference value, and finely regulating a plate cylinder with the result. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal line mark 19 and an oblique mark 20 are printed by the first printing unit on the margin 18 of a continuous sheet 2, a horizontal line mark 21 and an oblique mark 22 are printed by the second printing unit, and a horizontal line mark 23 and an oblique mark 24 are printed by the third printing unit. The marks can be read out on the prescribed light transceiver scanning line 25 by light transceiver 16 and/or light transceiver 17. The lengths M1, M2, thus obtained ... are compared with reference values S1, S2, ...; the corrections are output to elevational moving motor and lateral moving motor to correct the positions of plate cylinders 7, ... when there are deviations. |
