An interior lighting system for a motor vehicle is connected to a first switch and a second switch by means an electronic switch in such a way that when the first switch is triggered the interior light changes its switched state, that when the second switch is closed the interior light is switched on or maintained and that when the second switch is opened the interior light is switched off.
