The invention relates to a device for the compensation of rotary impulses in internal combustion engines, in particular a device arranged at least in terms of its effect between two flywheel masses capable of rotation relative to one another, one flywheel mass being connectable to the internal combustion engine and the other being connectable to the input part of a transmission. To better adapt the damping capacity of the device to the respective application and thus optimise its damping characteristic and broaden the possible area of application, a first damping device is provided so as to exert its effect between the two flywheel masses, and a second damping device which comes into effect in series with the first, and a friction device, which comes into effect after a delay, are also provided.
