The invention relates to a setting lock for preventing the inadvertent adjustment of setting knobs. The aim of the invention is to prevent inadvertent adjustment in a case when setting elements on units are accessible from outside. The object of the invention is to lock an axially immobile setting knob with the aid of simple means. It is necessary in this case for the setting knob and its lock to be suitable for installing on front panels and to be easily operable from the front. According to the invention, the object is achieved by arranging preferably 3 friction pins in 3 bores in the front panel of the setting knob. These pins are axially pressed by means of a pressure plate onto the upper planar surface of the spring housing and produce the locking effect by virtue of their friction.
