The container part (10) is a metal can drawn in a cylindrical shape or, to facilitate stacking, in a conical shape, the broad rim of which forms a sealing rim (11) on which there can rest a foil cover (12). On its contact side, the side facing the interior of the package, the foil cover, which has a tear-open tab (12), has a polyethylene copolymer coating which, under the action of heat, exerts an adhesive effect. Such a foil cover (12) is placed on the bright or protectively coated, adhesive-free 2 to 3 mm-wide sealing rim (11) and heat-sealed. This gives a package which is absolutely airtight and absolutely leaktight as regards the carbon dioxide pressure and forms a closure system which provides the consumer with an easy means of opening and drinking from a can or cup. <IMAGE>
