<p>PURPOSE:To achieve a higher distance resolution, by generating a chirp signal on the basis of a waveform memorized in a memory element. CONSTITUTION:A waveform memorized in a memory element 12 is read out with a read control circuit 11 and a chirp signal with frequency varying monotonously is generated from a signal generating section 10 to be transmitted. This signal is received and compressed at a pulse compressing section 18 having a pulse compressing chirp filter 18. With such an arrangement using a pulse- stretching chirp filter, not a chirp signal generator, the pulse-stretching chirp filter and the pulse compressing chirp filter on the receiving side are made free completely from restraints such as conjugation of delay time characteristic thereby improving the distance resolution.</p> |
