The present invention relates to a longline storage apparatus comprising at least one storage rail (6) arranged longitudinally in the upper part of a storage box, with a device for engaging the hooks on this rail together with the casts (2) and the main line (1) accommodated in the said box. According to the invention, the device also possesses a turning appliance (4) consisting of at least one driven roller (26), against which at least one bearing roller (28) bears in order to ensure the haulage of the main line (1), and an appliance which, under the control of a hook or cast detector, ensures the advance of the turning appliance (4) in steps from the rear end of the rail (6) towards the entry end, the step being equal to the storage space for a hook (3). <IMAGE>
